A beautiful Winter's day

Melbourne has the strangest weather.
It is the middle of winter and so cold that my fingers are covered in chillblains!
Last Saturday I woke up to a sparkling day of bright sun and no wind.
It was a perfect day to wander down to Lanncocks Park, and try out my new camera
it is nothing fancy, but it does have a few more features than my old Kodak.
I have known the park since I was a small child, it has huge pines and willow trees, very picturesque.

In the middle is a lake, with a small island, when I was little we used to feed the ducks and catch yabbies.

Now of course you are not allowed to do either of these things.
At one stage there were dozens of white domestic ducks, they have all gone,
probably eaten by the foxes that hang around the area!
There are still some wild ducks that live in the park.
I came across these two, sitting in the sun,
right next to the path, didnt even worry when Rinso and I came right up to them.

A hungry Magpie was much more difficult to photograph,
he would not stay still, and was very wary of me.
This is the best shot I got.

Although I saw many beautiful trees,
this was the only flower I could find anywhere.
It was hidden away in a lonely corner.
So delicate!

What a beautiful day I had,
and guess what - --
Woke up next morning
ITS RAINING AGAIN!!

Until next time --- Happy Days!
